Fire! A History of Firefighting in Dedham 7:00 p.m.

May 15, 2024

Did you know that in 1800, the Town of Dedham purchased a fire truck made by Paul Revere? Or that the first bell used to alert citizens to a fire was installed in the meeting house in the 1650s? Speaker, Jack Hoell, has spent several years researching and producing a documentary in which he shares these and many other stories related to the history of firefighting in Dedham. For the program, he will provide an introduction to his film, which will be shown, and will then answer questions.
