Education Portal

The educational tools presented here are intended to engage and connect students with local history, making it relevant to the study of broader themes in U.S. history. Though the lesson plans are geared to Dedham’s history, with documents from the museum and archival collections, the themes are useful to educators from schools beyond Dedham.

The portal is created to align with high school U.S. history curricula. Additional lessons for high school students will continue to be added. In the future, middle school and elementary school lessons will be incorporated in sections with the associated curricula.

While the portal is focused on presenting case studies, additional themes related to Dedham’s history are available on the History section of this website.
