DEDHAM HISTORICAL SOCIETY OFFERS SUMMER PROGRAM JUST FOR KIDS!

Every Wednesday at 10am during July and August the Society will offer a free one hour program for kids ages 8-14 focusing on local history and family genealogy. Eleanor Palma, a certified K-8 school teacher, counselor, and reading teacher will work with our young visitors to enhance their knowledge of Dedham’s history and how their family is contributing to the story of the community. This program is a great way to introduce historical and genealogical concepts to kids in a non-academic environment. The same program will be repeated each Wednesday.

As part of the program the kids will “make-a-plate” using Dedham Pottery or their family tree as inspiration. The program is free; however, the Society requests parents call ahead to reserve a space. This project is supported in part by grants from the Hermann Dexter Lodge, #133 I.O.O.F and the Dedham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
