Dedham Pottery Dinner

Fantastic Turnout for Dedham Pottery Dinner!

More than 80 people attended Dedham Historical Society & Museum‘s festive evening to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first museum exhibition of Dedham Pottery on October 26th. Blue and white was the theme—from the suggested attire, original Dedham Pottery dinner plates (from a private collection), reproduction plates for dessert, an auction of a rare piece, a raffle for a 1929 rabbit bowl (congratulations to our winner, Brandy Culp, curator at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT), a special talk by Paul Evans (author of “Art Pottery of the United States”), and a presentation by DHSM board member and DP expert, Jim Kaufman (shown auctioning the pitcher) on the history of Dedham Pottery. A truly enjoyable once-in-a-lifetime event. Thank you to all who attended and to all who made the evening possible, particularly Jim Kaufman, DHSM board president Andrea Gilmore and the Worthington Committee, among others.
