Riverdale School Visits DHSM

School Visits

Third graders from Riverdale Elementary School visited DHSM as part of their history curriculum.

During the students’ visit, they handled “touch it” artifacts of items used in the past (distant and more recent) and compared them to items they use today; they received a “highlights” tour of the collection; and visited the archives to see colonial treasures, including George Washington’s signature, a 1765 taxation stamp that resulted from “taxation without representation,” and many other documents important to early Dedham and early American history. The students also had fun seeing the high school yearbook photo of one of their teachers (see main photo).

We look forward to the three other elementary schools visiting DHSM before the end of school this June. Thank you to the principals, teachers, and parents who make these visits possible.
