What people are saying: “Thanks so much for what I would say is a wonderful museum and archive. Not all towns have what Dedham has. There is so much history here being one of the oldest towns in Massachusetts. I have enjoyed several of the talks/discussions that have taken place here. Keep up the great work!” — William B.

Paul J. Corey (1942-2025) was a past Board member of Dedham Museum & Archive and provided counsel to the Museum beyond his tenure. Though Paul had moved from Dedham after retiring from his painting business, he continued to care about the town and the Museum, and our important role in preserving history.
We appreciate his family’s wishes for memorial donations to be made in Paul’s name to Dedham Museum & Archive. The funds will be put toward operating expenses, which include the maintenance and preservation of the historic building and collections.

The Dedham Museum & Archive is saddened by the loss of past director Robert B. Hanson (1946-2023). A serious scholar and preservationist of Dedham’s history, Hanson wrote a number of books on the Town’s history and its citizens during his tenure that are among the most referenced in the Museum’s Archive. We are honored that his family has chosen Dedham Museum & Archive as a beneficiary for donations in his memory.
To contribute, please send a check to The Robert B. Hanson Memorial Fund, Dedham Museum & Archive, P.O. Box 215, Dedham, MA 02027, or click here.
Donations in Mr. Hanson’s memory will go toward the needs of operating the Archive. Thank you.
We are always looking for energetic, history lovers, and worker-bees alike to volunteer in the archive.
